Long Term Goals

In order to fulfill our vision of helping to rebuild lives that have been devastated by the HIV/AIDs epidemic, Life Builders will vigorously pursue these long term goals. It is our desire that through these projects, many lives will be saved, touched and transformed for God's glory.

1. We plan to build a Community Center (The Life Builders Center), which will include:

  • Clinic/hospital
  • Elementary and secondary schools
  • Skills acquisition center for youths and orphans who cannot make it to college
  • Home for widows and orphans to live together in a community (not the traditional orphanage home where children are taken out of a real family/life setting)

2. Establish a revolving fund for widows to start a business to support their children

We hope to scale up our micro finance program in order to help more widows and youth orphans who are able to work and earn their living. Rather than giving a handout, we are encouraging self reliance.

3. Start income generating projects for sustaining the ministry

In the course of five years (2010-2015), one of our long term goals is to establish our ministry on a strong financial footing by generating money locally to run the ministry through some income generating projects. Our goal is not to depend on monthly support from our partners in the West for recurrent expenses by the year 2015. However, we will continue to solicit assistance for our major capital projects as the need arises. For instance, we have secured a Villager Sun Oven that is capable of providing jobs for up to 8 people (mostly our widows) and generate income to pay for our office rent in a year. Other income generating projects that we plan to embark on include:

  • Real Estate: We hope to build five units (of four flats each) as rental apartments within the next five years. Cost per unit is $120,000
  • Farm Project: This includes a poultry farm, fishery, piggery and crop production. This will not only provide food for the people, it could also provide employment for hundreds of our jobless youths in the nation of Nigeria. Initial cost is $46,000
  • Furniture Factory: We are in the process of acquiring fairly used furniture making equipment that could provide jobs for up to 50 people and train hundreds of youths in carpentry and furniture making. We urgently need about $43,780 to make this happen.  Income generated from this project could sustain the ministry annually, including paying our monthly staff salaries
